So you probably already know that your mailing list is SO powerful and it’s the most important marketing method to grow your business but you don’t want to go through the hassle of creating a website because it can be costly and technical. You really don’t have to have a website to start building. There are tons of online tools that are free for you to use to build that list!
So here is how to grow a mailing list without a website.
There are a few ways to grow your list without having new subscribers fill out a form on a website. I’m going to take you through each way and the most effective tactics for each.
Choose an E-mail Service
MailChimp is our favourite source to create mailing lists. It is super easy and has many templates to choose from. Best of all, each new subscriber is added right to our mailing lists within Mailchimp as well. Choose one that can be integrated with a website should you ever decide that you want to take your business to the next level.
Build Yourself a Landing Page
A landing page is essentially an online, one-page sign-up page. It looks like a website but without all of the technical aspects. You design it to your liking, and then distribute the link as you wish. You will need to create fields for a name and email and give a CTA to tell your subscribers why they should sign up.
Social Media Engagement
Once your landing page is created, you can turn to social media. If you really don’t want to have a website, then you use social engagement to drive subscribers. E-mail services also allow you to import contacts you may already have but beware of spamming. If you don’t use a merge tag you will likely be flagged for spamming.
Host a Giveaway
Everyone loves a giveaway. Hosting a giveaway incentivizes everyone to give away there for a chance to win. Win or lose, they have given permission to be on your mailing list. Now it’s up to you to provide them with great content so that they stick around.
Posting articles on medium or guest posting on an established blog is a great way to show a unique audience what you bring to the table. Including a sign up within those articles gives you a chance to gain new subscribers from a place you wouldn’t normally gain subscribers from.
Each of these tactics gives you an opportunity to grow your mailing list without having a website. The landing page allows you to post that link at the end of any blog or post you create, always bringing readers to a quick spot to sign up.
